The PHAGOSCOPE OXID is a ready-to-use, high-level disinfectant (cold sterilant) formulated with peracetic acid. It is specifically designed for high-level disinfection of heat-sensitive medical devices, such as flexible and rigid endoscopes, surgical instruments, and probes. Its broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity ensures absolute safety for patients and healthcare personnel.
Why choose PHAGOSCOPE OXID?
- Total Spectrum: Total bactericidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal, virucidal, and sporicidal action, meeting the strictest European standards.
- Ready-to-use: No dilution necessary (no risk of dosage errors or handling errors). The formula is stabilized for immediate effectiveness.
- Fast Action: Allows for rapid turnaround of instrumentation due to reduced contact time (generally 10 to 15 minutes depending on disinfection protocols).
- Aldehyde-Free: Glutaraldehyde-free formula, avoiding the risk of protein fixation on materials and offering better respiratory tolerance for users.
- High Compatibility: Compatible with most materials of heat-sensitive medical devices and endoscopes (always check the endoscope manufacturer's recommendations).

Instructions for Use
1. Cleaning and Pre-disinfection (Mandatory Prior Step):
- Thoroughly clean and pre-disinfect the medical device with a suitable detergent-disinfectant product (ideally enzymatic).
- Rinse thoroughly with tap water to remove all detergent residue.
- Rigorously dry the instruments to avoid diluting the PHAGOSCOPE OXID bath.
2. High-Level Disinfection:
- Pour pure PHAGOSCOPE OXID into a clean, dry soaking tray with a lid.
- Completely immerse the medical device. For endoscopes, ensure all internal channels are irrigated with the solution.
- Allow to act according to the contact time required by your nosocomial infection control protocol (generally 10 to 15 minutes).
3. Final Rinse:
- Remove the device from the bath, observing aseptic rules.
- Rinse very thoroughly and meticulously with sterile water or 0.2 µm filtered water (including inside the channels).
- Dry with a sterile single-use drape before immediate use or storage in a dedicated enclosure.
Safety and Precautions
- Bath Control: Daily check the peracetic acid level of the bath using specific test strips to guarantee its effectiveness. The bath must be renewed regularly according to usage intensity and manufacturer's recommendations.
- Protective Equipment: Mandatory wearing of chemical-resistant gloves, protective eyewear, and appropriate clothing. The product is irritating to eyes and skin.
- Use: Strictly for healthcare and hygiene professionals. Never mix with other chemical products.
